Biocence is a botanical, plant-based OTC antiseptic drug that kills pathogenic bacteria (including MRSA), fungi, and viruses within 30 seconds while preserving beneficial microbes. It is FDA registered under NDC #59998 and is the only OTC antiseptic drug granted approval for registry as a multi-use topical antiseptic. It provides antiseptic, analgesic, anti-inflammatory, and wound-healing properties.

Does Biocence kill MRSA?

Yes. Biocence has demonstrated zero kill time (on contact) on all types of MRSA including Nosocomial MRSA, Community-acquired MRSA (CA-MRSA), and Invasive MRSA. It also kills other antibiotic-resistant organisms including VRE, Acinetobacter, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Testing was conducted in BSL 2, 3, and 4 independent laboratories.

What conditions does Biocence treat?

Biocence is used for wound care (acute, chronic, surgical, burns, lacerations, abrasions), MRSA and antibiotic-resistant infections, diabetic wounds, bed sores (pressure ulcers), eczema, acne, blisters, insect bites, scorpion stings, snake bites, ostomy care, continence care, and general skin infections. It is safe for all ages including infants and pregnant women.

Is Biocence FDA approved?

Biocence is an FDA-registered over-the-counter (OTC) drug with an approved label monograph. Its NDC (National Drug Code) number is 59998. It is the only OTC antiseptic drug granted FDA approval for registry as a multi-use topical antiseptic.

How does Biocence work differently from antibiotics?

Unlike antibiotics, Biocence is a selective antimicrobial — it kills pathogenic (harmful) bacteria, fungi, and viruses while preserving beneficial microbes. This is critical because antibiotics kill both harmful and beneficial microbes, which can lead to secondary infections and antibiotic resistance. Biocence's botanical formula provides an alternative approach to infection prevention without contributing to antibiotic resistance.

Is Biocence safe for children and sensitive skin?

Yes. Biocence has been tested on infants as young as 2-3 months, pregnant women, and patients with sensitive skin. A Repeat Insult Patch Test (RIPT) showed 100% non-reactive results regardless of gender, age, or ethnicity. The formula is plant-based and non-alcohol.

Where can I buy Biocence?

Biocence antiseptic spray and lotion can be purchased directly from the Biocence store at biocence.com/biocencestore. Available in 50ml and 100ml sizes. For bulk or institutional orders, contact Biocence at 844-246-2362 or adl@biocence.com.

What awards has Biocence received?

Biocence received the Novation Wound Council Innovative Technology Award after being evaluated by wound, ostomy, and continence nurses (WOCN) and clinicians. It received 100% approval from the Novation Board of Directors in 2013-2014. The Wound Council concluded that Biocence demonstrates improved clinical outcomes and there are no other similar products on the market.
